Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise within the BI team, identifying and implementing process improvements that drive efficiency and return on investment using BI strategies and tools.
  • Develop/Maintain as part of the global project teams a broad range of, often complex, reports using strategic Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools be it SAP Business Objects Webi or Crystal Reports.
  • Ability to trouble shoot or analyse complex report queries and optimise where required.
  • Ability to recognise gaps/errors in complex multiple report reconciliation be it counts or monitory values.
  • Develop/Maintain SAP Business Objects Universe to support Reports.
  • Design/Setup/Maintain Folder lever security for SAP Business Objects as per program/project requirements.
  • Research and prepare business reports to a high standard and in line with the current suite of published customer reports.
  • Coordinate and maintain the reporting requirements backlog, working with stakeholders to deliver value at the right time.
  • Responsible for the BI system infrastructure availability and patch support in partnership with Technology teams. 
  • Platform management with respect to monitoring, scheduling, incident/defect management, and other tasks related to ensuring platform stability and performance for multiple programs and their various non-prod and production environments.
  • Provide support, data, and insights to the business to support project and BAU (business as usual) requirements globally.
  • Solution design/architecture inputs for both new and established environments and provide regular and ad-hoc data analysis to key business units across the business.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be required of them.

  • The role will support programs in other time zones, such as North American and APAC, so the ability to work early and/or late evening hours will re required.

 

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or Post Graduate qualifications in a related field
  • Certification in Business Intelligence and Analytics related fields

 

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in Business Intelligence related role(s)
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, complex query authoring (PL SQL / T-SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Oracle/SQL Server)
  • Advanced skills in SAP Business Objects (Webi, Universes, Crystal)
  • Advanced skills in SAP Business Objects Administration and Security set up and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex reports and underlying queries.
  • Experience in BI development cycle and BI best practices with strict change control.
  • Experience of interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and communicating with a varied audience.
  • Strong business analysis skills with an ability to understand complex business process and ability to use Incident and defect management tools (JIRA / Service Now).

 

Desirable:

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Business Intelligence platforms (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  • Development experience with Power BI
  • Experience of using multiple ETL tools
  • Experience of training or leading technical colleagues.
  • Experience in a data analyst role or similar.

 

Education and qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to Degree level in Computer Science or Engineering field or equivalent education/experience.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent within a relevant field or equivalent education/experience
